Renowned Recording Artist Benny Friedman and acappella phenomenon The Maccabeats will join this year’s line-up for KulturfestNYC’s 2016 Yiddish Soul concert at Central Park Summerstage.

Yiddish Soul will feature the world’s leading voices of Cantorial music including: Benny Friedman, Yanky Lemmer of Lincoln Square Synagogue, Netanel Hershtik of The Hampton Synagogue, Joseph Malovany of the Fifth Avenue Synagogue, Chassidic popstar Lipa Schmeltzer and the widely popular band Zusha.

The all-star orchestra features Jewish music stars Frank London, of the Grammy Award winning Klezmatics, NYTF Artistic Director Zalmen Mlotek on piano, Avremi Gourarie, musical director, arranger and conductor of the modern Chassidic musical genre, and musicians Yaron Gershovsky, Benny Koonievsky, Mike Hall, Nadav Remez, Michael Winograd, and Dan Blacksberg.

Yiddish Soul joins divergent traditions of Jewish music and culture in a united celebration of a shared heritage and pays thrilling homage to the musical legacy of Eastern Europe and the American Jewish experience.
